Trey Kaufman-Renn had 19 points and six rebounds to help No. 17 Purdue overcome a slow first half and notch a 69-58 victory over Washington in Big Ten play on Wednesday night in Seattle.

Braden Smith recorded 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and he tied his season high of five steals as the Boilermakers (14-4, 6-1 Big Ten) won their sixth straight game.

Caleb Furst had career highs of 15 points and four steals and also collected six rebounds for Purdue. Fletcher Loyer added 12 points.

Great Osobor scored a season-best 28 points on 8-of-9 shooting and was a career-best 5 of 5 from 3-point range. Osobor also had nine rebounds and three steals for the Huskies (10-8, 1-6).

Mekhi Mason added 12 points for Washington, which has lost four straight games, all to ranked teams.

The Boilermakers made 50 percent of their shots — including 60 percent in the second half — but were just 3 of 13 from 3-point range. Purdue went the first 22-plus minutes without making a 3-pointer after making 19 three days ago against Nebraska, one shy of the program record.

Washington shot 42.6 percent from the field, including 9 of 22 from 3-point range.

Purdue trailed by eight at halftime before outscoring the Huskies 31-9 over the first 11:46 of the second half.

The Boilermakers opened the half with an 11-2 run to take the lead at 33-32 on Kaufman-Renn’s basket with 15:36 left in the game.

Washington edged back ahead at 36-35 on Osobor’s dunk with 14:30 remaining, before Purdue ripped off 13 straight points. Camden Heide made two free throws to cap the burst and give the Boilermakers a 48-36 advantage with 10:11 left.

Loyer’s layup and 3-pointer ended the extended spurt and gave Purdue a 53-39 lead with 8:14 to go.

Washington later scored seven straight points, including a steal and hoop by Mason, to move within 62-54 with 2:25 left in the game.

But Loyer drained a 3-pointer with 1:41 left, and Smith followed with a basket with 56.3 seconds to play to give Purdue a 67-54 lead, and the Boilermakers closed it out.

Osobor scored 11 first-half points as Washington led 30-22 at the break.

Mason and Osobor both hit treys during a 10-0 run as the Huskies took an 18-12 lead with 8:45 left in the half.

The Boilermakers crept within four before Osobor and Tyler Harris each hit 3-pointers to give Washington a 30-20 lead with 35 seconds remaining.
