Desmond Bane scored 21 points and Jaren Jackson Jr. added 19 as the Memphis Grizzlies snapped a three-game losing streak with a 140-103 win over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday in Salt Lake City.
Scotty Pippen Jr. had 16 points and 10 assists for Memphis (44-28), which trailed by one at halftime before outscoring Utah 41-17 in the third quarter. Jay Huff, Vince Williams Jr. and Zach Edey each added 15 points.
Isaiah Collier led Utah (16-57) with 21 points. Collin Sexton scored 15 points and Johnny Juzang and Kyle Filipowski scored 13 apiece for the Jazz, who lost for the 13th time in their last 14 games.
With star Ja Morant (left hamstring injury) sitting out his fifth straight game, Memphis shot 53.1 percent, including 20 of 45 (44.4 percent) from 3-point range.
The Grizzlies outscored Utah 64-32 on points in the paint and won the season series 4-0.
Utah jumped to a 28-16 lead and held a 35-29 edge at the end of the first quarter after shooting 7 of 12 (58.3 percent) from 3-point range.
The Jazz extended their lead to 61-47 with 4:52 left in the second quarter before Memphis closed on a 17-4 run to pull within 65-64 at halftime.
Bane scored 17 points in the first half for the Grizzlies, who carried the momentum into a dominant third quarter.
Memphis never looked back after moving ahead 73-69 on Jackson’s trey with 9:37 left in the period.
Luke Kennard hit one of Memphis’ six 3-pointers in the third quarter to give his team a 94-78 lead with 3:55 left. The Grizzlies held a 105-82 lead at the end of the period after a 14-4 run.
Memphis held the Jazz to 38 points in the second half on 33.3 percent shooting, including just 22.2 percent (4 of 18) from beyond the arc.
Utah played without Lauri Markkanen (illness) and Jordan Clarkson (left plantar fasciitis).
